Anseong City in South Korea has announced its plans for the development of the Pyeongchon New City, proposing a substantial increase in the floor area ratio to 330%. The city envisions a vibrant and sustainable future for Pyeongchon, with a focus on four key objectives: providing comfortable living conditions, fostering a healthy environment for children, enhancing connectivity and accessibility, and driving future economic development. The city aims to create a knowledge-based industrial cluster centered around the city’s industrial land, and plans to integrate social infrastructure for senior citizens. A comprehensive public transportation system will connect the new city with the existing transportation network. The development plan includes the expansion of green spaces and the creation of essential infrastructure, including roads, parks, and schools. The public will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the plan through a public forum, which will be conducted over the next three weeks. The project, which will undergo further review by the city council and the Gyeonggi-do provincial government, is expected to commence later this year.
