Al Ahly SC, the Egyptian football powerhouse, has decided to reconsider signing Palestinian international Omar Faraj, currently playing for Swedish club AIK. This decision comes amidst ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club’s roster and the potential departure of key players. Faraj, a talented striker, had been a prime target for Al Ahly due to his impressive performance and his non-foreign player status according to Egyptian league regulations. This would have given Al Ahly a strategic advantage in bolstering their attacking line. However, the club is currently seeking a foreign striker to fill the void left by the departure of Anthony Modeste. As a result, Omar Faraj’s signing has been put on hold for now. Al Ahly is also exploring the possibility of signing Tunisian international Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan, who plays for Ferencváros in Hungary. Al Ahly’s plans were initially focused on utilizing the foreign player slot occupied by Percy Tau, but Tau’s reluctance to leave the club has forced the team to re-evaluate their options, potentially keeping Omar Faraj on their radar.
