Ukrainian authorities declared an air raid alert across six regions, including the capital Kyiv, due to the threat of airstrikes. The affected regions include Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Kharkiv. The alert, which was announced between 18:33 and 18:44 Moscow time, follows reports of an explosion in the Sumy region, located near the Russian border. Sirens sounded throughout the region, accompanied by an air raid alert. This comes amid ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with Russian forces targeting Ukrainian infrastructure since October 2022.
