Zakia Khudadadi, a taekwondo athlete from Afghanistan, has made history by winning the first medal for the Refugee Paralympic Team at the Paris Paralympics. Khudadadi, who was born without an arm, secured the bronze medal in the women’s 47 kg category, defeating Turkey’s Akinci Nursihan. Despite facing immense challenges, including the Taliban’s rise in Afghanistan, Khudadadi persevered, dedicating her win to all Afghan women and refugees worldwide.
